7/9/18 Weekly Call to Action

Trump is gearing up to announce his pick to replace Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy on Monday.

While we don’t know who his nominee will be, we know the stakes are high. His “short list” of potential nominees was written by far-right activists with two key criteria: overturn Roe v. Wade and commit to striking down the Affordable Care Act. We can also anticipate attacks on voting rights, environmental protections, and LGBTQ+ rights from any Trump nominee.

* And every week... Be sure to check out our Events Calendar often, as we add events daily to it.*

Federal Actions (from Indivisible National)

By now, we’re sure you’ve done these two things (but if you haven’t, do this now!):

✔️Read our 2-step strategy plan to win the Supreme Court fight
✔️Check out savescotus.indivisible.org to find the resources you’ll need to fight Trump's nomination

We’re ready to fight this nomination. The first part of our two-step, #SaveSCOTUS strategy is to get 51 votes to oppose Trump’s nominee in the Senate. This strategy has a narrow margin of victory. But we can win. It requires massive, sustained, collective action.

That’s why we’ve teamed up with more than two dozen progressive organizations for a week of action at Senate District Offices from Monday, July 9 to Friday, July 13.

MoveOn.org, Planned Parenthood Action Fund, NARAL Pro-Choice America, National Institute of Reproductive Health Action Fund, National Center for Transgender Equality, Leadership Conference on Civil and Human Rights, SEIU, American Federation of Teachers, and many more are all in, and joining us for this week of action.

Find a #SaveSCOTUS event near you!

→ Indivisible Anchorage will hold a rally to #SaveSCOTUS on Monday to pressure Senator Lisa Murkowski, a potential swing vote!
→ Indivisible Nation BK in New York will hold a “Whip the Vote, Chuck!” rally Monday with several other Indivisible groups and allies joining. They’re asking Chuck Schumer to hold the Democratic caucus together and whip votes.
→ Indivisible Sagadahoc in Maine is hosting a district office visit at Senator Susan Collins’ office on July 13.
→ Visit our map to find a #SaveSCOTUS event near you, or register your own!

But if there isn’t an event near you (yet!) ...

There’s still time to plan one, but hustle 👏 hustle 👏 hustle! Reach out to your group, choose a date and time for your district office visit, and then register your event on our map so others can join. When you register events to the map, you will get a list of RSVPs, and we’ll help promote your event to people in your area.

Show up. Get creative. And make your voices heard!

Tune in to Facebook Live on Monday night at 8:30pm ET/5:30pm PT to hear more about the #SaveSCOTUS week of action and Trump’s nominee. We’ll be joined by Planned Parenthood Action Fund and National Women’s Law Center, and we’ll take your questions in real time!

We’re looking forward to seeing all of your #SaveSCOTUS actions -- please be sure to tag @IndivisibleTeam on Twitter so we can help amplify your work!
