Author's Summary:  "Making appropriations for the Departments of Commerce and Justice, Science, and Related Agencies (e.g. NSF, NASA, NIST, NOAA, Census) for the fiscal year ending September 30, 2018, and for other purposes."

IB Summary:  This bill would result in an overall cut of 1.8% for the National Science Foundation (compared to the administration's request of a 11% cut), 9.1% cut for NIST (vs. 24% requested), and 7.7% cut for NOAA's Oceanic and Atmospheric Research (vs. 32% requested) relative to FY17 enacted funds, among other cuts to various federal science research and development agencies.
