H.R. 2907: Planning for American Energy Act of 2017

Author's Summary:  To amend the Mineral Leasing Act to require the Secretary of the Interior to develop and publish an all-of-the-above quadrennial Federal onshore energy production strategy to meet domestic energy needs, and for other purposes.

IB Summary:  This bill would direct the Energy Information Administration to issue a report about projected energy needs for the next 30 years, and would require the Department of the Interior to develop a 4-year strategy for domestic energy production which must include wind, solar, hydropower, geothermal, oil, natural gas, coal, oil shale and minerals.
