H.R. 620: ADA Education and Reform Act of 2017

Author's Summary:  This bill amends the Americans with Disability Act (ADA) to: require a notice and cure period before a business can be sued for noncompliance with ADA; require the DOJ to develop ADA compliance guidance for state and local governments and property owners; and require the Judicial Conference of the United States to develop a model program to promote alternative dispute resolution mechanisms to resolve claims of architectural barriers for public accommodations.

IB Summary:  This bill would significantly undermine the protections for persons with disabilities (physical or mental) to equal access to public accommodations by creating delays and legal obstacles to enforcing the ADA.
