Boulder High School, 1604 Arapahoe Ave., Boulder, CO 80302
Celebrate Boulder's Indigenous Peoples Day by welcoming the Hinóno'éí (Arapaho) people home.
Almost two years ago, a small group of native and non-native Boulder Valley residents established relationship with the Hinóno'éí (Arapaho) people and asked how the Hinóno'éí (Arapaho) want to relate to the land and current residents of Boulder Valley. The Hinóno'éí (Arapaho) said Boulder was their home and they want to know and be known by the the people of Boulder Valley.
This gathering is beginning of that relationship for many of us. We are expecting 120 Hinóno'éí (Arapaho) guests - to learn from them, about them, and let them know who we are too.
Experience an afternoon of traditional dancing, drumming, handgames, storytelling, language lessons, a cultural exchange with Boulder and Arapaho youth, and a Q and A with Arapaho leaders on their history and current lives.
This event is free and open to all. Come for part or all of the day. Parking is available.
